He ran ok in Fairyhouse the last day. Bryan Cooper liked him. He was on a nice mark today. Claiming five pounds was the big thing. We'll tip away in handicaps for the rest of the season.

O'Brien seals his first Graded success

The reason she was beaten the last time was my fault. I told Paul (Townend) to force the pace and it killed her on bottomless tacky ground. I wasn't going to run her until four or five days ago when she started to show me a little bit at home. Davy Condon spoke to Paul on the phone for instructions. We were in unbelievable trouble at the top, but they went a very strong gallop at the front. Over a trip and nicer ground there might be a nice handicap for her. It's my first Graded win and that's grand now for when she goes to stud. I wish her brother (Golantilla) had run better at Cheltenham!

Domination makes winning chase debut

we schooled him over fences at Leopardstown after racing before Cheltenham and while he jumped a little slow early on then, he was very good over the last four or five fences and jumped well today. He is much better on good to firm so I was concerned about the ground and while he is rated 95 on the Flat, today's win opens more doors for him. I don't know what is coming up but he is a 'summer novice' now and could go for a winners' of one next.

I have the horse five weeks. I didn't have much to do with her. She came looking great from Grainne O'Connor's. She's fairly straightforward and we just thought three miles over fences would suit her. The reason I have her is that the previous owners had her leased and she's back with her breeder Dan O'Brien.
