The Stewards interviewed A.J. Slattery, rider of Molten Gold (GB), concerning his use of the whip in the last three furlongs of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that A.J. Slattery was in breach of R(10)(3)(b) by the unnecessary hitting of his mount after his chance of winning or being placed was clearly gone and therefore cautioned him having taken his inexperience into consideration. Andrew Slattery, Master of A.J. Slattery, attended this enquiry. The Stewards interviewed M.L. Melia, rider of Wat Tyler (GB), concerning his use of the whip in the last three furlongs of this race.
