The Stewards interviewed Denis W. Cullen, trainer of Baby Dinnis, concerning the behaviour of his charge who was very slowly away from stalls, veered left on exiting and subsequently took no part in the race. The Stewards advised Denis W. Cullen, that, a repeat of this behaviour would render his charge liable to suspension.
An extended handicap for three yrs old and upwards (80 = 10st) Penalties - (after calculation of the handicap) A winner shall carry 5lb extra; for each race won. Any horse rated above 80 shall initially be treated as having that rating and the highest weight allotted shall be 10st. Subsequently, the excess over 80 in any rating shall be added to the weight allotted to that horse. (For the purpose of this note, any three year old rated above 80 shall have the applicable weight for age allowance then prevailing deducted from the horse's rating prior to the original calculation of the handicap) Riders - Apprentices who are apprenticed to trainers in Ireland only and who have not lost the right to claim the 5lb allowance under Rule 69 and who will not be allowed to carry whips.
