Following the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that a routine kit search revealed a number of syringes of Restore-Lyte, an electrolyte product, in the travelling case outside the stable of Apollinaire (GB), trained by Ralph Beckett.
The trainer’s representative, the Veterinary Officer and an Equine Welfare and Integrity Officer were interviewed.
Having heard their evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that the colt had received only normal food and water by mouth on the day of the race.
They confiscated the syringes and ordered a report to be forwarded to the Head Office of the British Horseracing Authority.
