The Stewards enquired into an incident on the final bend involving Fethard Player, ridden by D.J. Mullins, placed first, Misty Lady, ridden by S.W. Flanagan, placed second, Odit (GER), ridden by S.D. Torrens, unplaced, He's Our Man, ridden by D. Meyler, slipped up and Gentleman Duke, ridden by N.P. Madden, unplaced, where it appeared that He's Our Man fell in running, brought down Shamar and Wes Hardin and interfered with a number of runners. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were unable to apportion blame to any rider and took no further action. M.J. Bolger, rider of Lindenhurst, trained by John C. McConnell, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount was brought to a standstill when He's Our Man slipped up in running. N.P. Madden, rider of Gentleman Duke, trained by A.L.T.Moore, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount was badly hampered when He's Our Man slipped up in running.
An extended handicap hurdle for four yrs old and upwards rated 0-150 Penalties - Winner of a hurdle race or hurdle races after calculation of the handicap shall carry any penalty or penalties which may be allotted by the Handicapper.
