Fethard Player wins Grade C Hurdle Two horse trainer Willie Treacy has his 'string' in fine form of late and his Fethard Player defied top weight to win the Grade C Billecart-Salmon Handicap Hurdle at Down Royal today. Ridden by David Mullins, the son of King's Theatre stayed on strongly from two out for a five lengths win over Misty Lady. Fethard Player's only stablemate Can't Be Done was also a winner at Roscommon in June and following today's high profile win, Treacy stated "he's a little star! We were afraid of the ground as he is better on good ground. "It was a fair performance. He'll go chasing eventually but we'll tip away with him. There might be something for him in Leopardstown at Christmas and I'd say he'd also win on the flat." By Tom Weekes, quotes from Michael Graham
