Permission was given for Alix James (GB) to wear a hood in the parade ring only.
Shortly after the start, St Ives (GB), placed fourth, shifted right-handed at the same time that Alix James (GB), placed third, shifted left-handed, causing the rider of WE’RE REUNITED (IRE), unplaced, to take a slight check, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of St Ives (GB) or Alix James (GB).
An enquiry was held to consider interference on the bend involving: Winning Streak (GB), placed sixth, ridden by Sean Levey, WE’RE REUNITED (IRE), unplaced, ridden by David Probert and Keep Busy (IRE), placed second, ridden by Harrison Shaw.
The interference was found to be accidental as Winning Streak (GB) edged slightly left-handed when racing tight for room with WE’RE REUNITED (IRE) and Keep Busy (IRE) on his inside, which caused Shaw to take a slight check.
Paddy Mathers, the rider of Kendred Soul, placed eighth, was present in the enquiry but found to have no involvement in the incident.
The performance of Fuwayrit (IRE) which started favourite and finished seventh, was considered.
The representative of Mark Johnston’s explanation that the colt suffered interference early in the race was noted.
Fuwayrit (IRE) was routine tested.
Following the race, Alan Berry reported that BOB’S OSS (IRE), unplaced, was not suited by the Soft going and would prefer a firmer surface.
The Veterinary Officer reported that the winner, Stone Soldier (GB), placed, lost his right hind-shoe.
