The Stewards enquired into possible interference in the closing stages of this race involving Born By The Sea, ridden by J.G. Gilligan, placed third, Drumacoo, ridden by M.M. McDonagh, placed first and Grange Walk, ridden by D.E. Mullins, placed second, where it appeared that interference may may occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards made no alteration to the judges placings and took no further action.
An extended handicap hurdle for five years old and upwards (140 = 11st 10lbs) Weights - Top weight in the original handicap and after the time of declaration shall not be less than 11st 10lbs and the minimum weight is 9st 12lbs Penalties - Winner of a hurdle race after calculation of the handicap shall carry 5lb extra for each hurdle race won.
