An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference inside the final furlong when the winner Dyagilev (GB), ridden by Adrian McCarthy interfered with Waterproof (GB), placed second, ridden by Josephine Gordon.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved Dyagilev (GB)’s placing as Waterproof (GB) appeared to lose minimal momentum as a result of the interference and Dyagilev (GB) appeared to be holding Waterproof (GB) to win by ½ length at the line.
The interference was found to be accidental as Dyagilev (GB) had edged quickly left-handed away from the whip before being swiftly corrected resulting in Waterproof (GB) receiving a slight bump.
Following the race, Adrian McCarthy reported that the winner Dyagilev (GB), hung left-handed throughout.
Liam Keniry reported that Necoleta (GB), which started favourite and finished seventh, was never travelling and David Probert reported that Vakilita (IRE), unplaced, was also never travelling.
