Silvestre de Sousa, the rider of the winner, Nuits St Georges (IRE), was suspended for 2 days for using his whip in the incorrect place on the run to the line.
The winner, Nuits St Georges (IRE), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Ascot on 8 May 2021 where the gelding finished seventh of nine, beaten by 40 lengths.
The Stewards noted David Menuisier’s explanation that the gelding was unsuited by the quick early pace in its seasonal debut at Ascot and ran too freely in the early stages and as a result finished tired.
He continued that the gelding settled better today.
Nuits St Georges (IRE) was routine tested.
Following the race, Georgia Dobie reported that Hyanna (GB), placed third, hung right-handed.
