The Stewards requested a report from David Peter Dunne, trainer as to the apparent improvement in form of Ballycastle Girl, placed first, as compared with its recent form. David Peter Dunne reported that his charge finished disappointingly on her last run where she did not handle the track and wore a tongue tie which worked against her
Since her last run, she has been managed for an asthma condition. For today's run his charge did not wear a tongue tie and this, along with better ground conditions, helped to bring about an improvement in form. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the explanation offered.
