Benaud has legs to put his rivals in a spin
Surrounding knows where the winning post is
She’s a wonderful mare and she loves it around here. I was a bit concerned about the ground but she’s getting older and probably able to handle it. She has been such a great servant to us. We’ll head back to Dundalk for the Cooley with her now. It’s amazing the enthusiasm she still has for it and seven furlongs or a mile is good for her. When she gets to the front she thinks she’s won. She parked up a bit when she got to the front but she travelled super.
Poetic Flare takes Group 3 Killavullan in good style
He’s been growing all year so that’s why he hadn’t run until the Dewhurst. It’s a Group 1 and we had to give it a try and we were happy with his run. He took all the travelling very well. He’ll be aimed at the Guineas. Clare has a full brother to him so she will be happy as well.
Lobo Rojo too hot for the opposition
We thought he was very good in the spring and he was just beaten on his first run. Then everything went wrong in Gowran where he hit his head in the stalls. He started growing and only in the last month have we started to get him right. He did it well and Shane just rode him with hands and heels. He’s a gorgeous, big horse and wants a mile and a half. He has a massive stride and needs a big galloping track. It would be good for him to have another run this year but I don’t know what we will find. He’ll stay in training next year.
Camorra impresses on favoured soft ground
He’s a horse that was meant to go to Hong Kong but needs that ground. He travelled all the way around. Sam gave him a lovely ride and he showed a nice turn of foot to take it up. The ground is important and it’s just nice soft ground. He’s a lovely framed horse and will be a lovely four-year-old. That will probably be it for this year and he’ll be a nice horse for the spring. He’ll stay a bit further.
Haparanda shows her turn of foot
She handles the ground well and got a good ride from Andrew. She quickened well on the ground. I’d say she will stay in training next year and that will probably be it for this year.
Future Proof comes home best in Foxrock
He’s just come down a little bit and he ran very well here last year (in the October Handicap). He might go now for the Naas November Handicap and then back over hurdles. He’s a fun horse that can win races. He’s not altogether simple but often those type of horses get on well with women.
