Camorra a maiden winner on debut at Killarney last year, regained the winning thread when defying top-weight in the Manguard Plus Handicap at Leopardstown.
Trained by Ger Lyons and sporting the familiar blue and white silks of Sean Jones, the well-supported 11/2 chance quickened up impressively on the far rail a furlong out under talented apprentice Sam Ewing.
He stretched clear inside the final furlong to beat Vischio by five lengths, with Son Of Hypnos finding no extra a further three quarters of a length back in third.
Lyons was represented by his brother and assistant Shane who said, “He’s a horse that was meant to go to Hong Kong but needs that ground. He travelled all the way around.
“Sam gave him a lovely ride and he showed a nice turn of foot to take it up. The ground is important and it’s just nice soft ground.
“He’s a lovely framed horse and will be a lovely four-year-old. That will probably be it for this year and he’ll be a nice horse for the spring. He’ll stay a bit further.”
