Following concerns raised by the riders at the start regarding the low sun obscuring their vision at the fences in the home straight, the Stewards consulted with the Clerk of the Course and ordered that these obstacles should be by-passed for this race.
The performance of Perpignan (IRE), which finished sixth of seven runners, was considered.
The representative of Christian Williams could offer no explanation for the gelding’s performance, other than Perpignan (IRE) was never travelling.
The Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination the gelding failed to reveal any abnormalities.
Following the race, Sean Bowen reported that Tanrudy (IRE), placed fourth, hung right.
