The winner, Orvar (IRE), appeared to show improved form, compared with its previous run at Chester on 27 July 2019 where the gelding finished sixth of eleven, beaten 8¾ lengths.
It was noted that Paul Midgley could offer no explanation for the gelding’s improved form.
The performance of Tommy G (GB) which finished unplaced, was considered.
The explanation from the representative of Jim Goldie that the gelding was unsuited by the Soft, Good to Soft in places, going and would prefer a quicker surface was noted.
Tommy G (GB) was routine tested.
Following the race, Lewis Edmunds reported that Roundhay Park (GB), unplaced, fly leapt leaving the stalls.
