Permission was given for Ormering Tide (IRE) to wear a red hood to post.
Approximately 1 furlong after the start, there appeared to be interference involving Danehill Star (IRE), unplaced, ridden by William Carson, and Miss Galiway (FR), unplaced, ridden by Daniel Tudhope.
The riders were interviewed and shown recordings of the incident, after which it was established that Carson on Danehill Star (IRE) had been sufficiently clear when crossing into the racing line of Miss Galiway (FR) and that filly which was racing freely, had in fact resented being restrained by Tudhope before losing ground when racing ungenerously.
An enquiry was held to consider interference entering the first bend involving Ormering Tide (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Finley Marsh, Red N Blue Dream (GB), unplaced, ridden by Pierre-Louis Jamin and Potters Diamond (GB), unplaced, ridden by Joey Haynes.
Oisin Orr, the rider of Solar Bentley (IRE), placed second, was also interviewed but deemed not to be involved.
Marsh was suspended for 4 days for careless riding as he had allowed his mount to shift left-handed when insufficiently clear of Red N Blue Dream (GB) giving that runner a significant bump, causing it to become notably unbalanced and in turn tighten up Haynes on Potters Diamond (GB), which was badly hampered on the rail.
For some distance rounding the first bend, a hard-pulling Little Rose (IRE), placed fourth, was awkwardly placed close to the heels of Miss Galiway (FR), unplaced, and ultimately tightened Escape The Grape (GB), unplaced, for room on the rail, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
Approaching 2 furlongs out, Publicity (GB), placed third, lugged right-handed as Solar Bentley (IRE), placed second, edged slightly left-handed causing the rider of Miss Galiway (FR), unplaced, to take a pre-cautionary check when short of room, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of either Publicity (GB) or Solar Bentley (IRE).
Following the race, Hollie Doyle reported that Something To Do (GB), placed fifth, was slowly away and never travelling, Silvestre De Sousa reported that Publicity (GB), placed third, hung right-handed off the bend, and Finley Marsh reported that Ormering Tide (IRE), unplaced, hung left-handed.
