An enquiry was held to consider interference on the bend passing the stands on the first circuit, involving Doyen Star (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Adam Wedge and Opening Bid (GB), which was pulled up, ridden by Bryan Carver.
Tom Bellamy, the rider of Captain Conby (IRE), placed third, was interviewed but found not to be involved.
The interference was found to be accidental as in a tightly packed field, Opening Bid (GB) made light contact with Doyen Star (IRE), causing Doyen Star (IRE) to become unbalanced and as a consequence Opening Bid (GB) to become short of room and Carver having to take a check.
Following the race, Chris Down reported that Opening Bid (GB), which was pulled up, was unsuited by the Good to Soft, Soft in places ground and would prefer a quicker surface.
