An enquiry was held to consider interference on the run to the final flight involving the winner THE PINK’N, ridden by Daniel Sansom and Elysian Flame (GB), placed fifth, ridden by Paddy Brennan.
Sansom was suspended for 3 days for careless riding as he angled his horse right-handed when insufficiently clear of Elysian Flame (GB) causing Brennan to take a check.
The performance of Elysian Flame (GB) which started favourite and finished fifth, was considered.
The representative of Michael Easterby could offer no explanation for the gelding’s performance.
Following the race, Ciaran Gethings reported that Maskada (FR), placed seventh, made a bad mistake at the fourth-last hurdle from home.
