Buiseness comes good
Paul said he was travelling with him at all stages. He's obviously improving and is maybe just a spring horse,. He's been improving at home. Paul rode during the week and was very pleased with him. He's been jumping too big and I told Paul to try and get in behind the first two and hopefully his jumping would be sharper than at Cheltenham. The experience of Cheltenham and the faster pace helped. I think it was maybe a case of him learning his trade over French hurdles. We'll look forward to Punchestown now.
Dedigout ends season with hat-trick success
It hasn't been easy with him. He looked a very promising horse when he won his novice at Punchestown but it just didn't work out for him over fences,. Last year he looked like a real World Hurdle horse but then chipped his knee here in December. Gerry Kelly (vet), Michael & Eddie O'Leary have done a great job getting him back. He's had a great year and we'll lock him up now for next year and take it from there. That's Carberry. He sits up and lets them do the work. Luckily when he gave him a squeeze the answer was there.
Martin and Townend double up
He's a horse that has plenty of pace. I was saying after seven furlongs that I'd made a mistake and should have run him in the two-mile tomorrow,. I was a bit afraid as he was so strong and Paul did the right thing letting him mosey on. He came home well and it worked out well in the end. He won impressively and I'd say he's a good horse.
Medici takes novice in style
That showed what running in a competitive handicap does for them. He was well able to jump back against novices and it gave him a different dimension,. As the spring goes on he's going to get better and we'll look to Punchestown now.
Hughes and Walsh the National heroines
He stays all day. I was a little disappointed with him at Cheltenham but he came out of it fine so we took our chance,. We thought all year that this was the race for him. He stays and keeps going and he doesn't mind that ground. Someone above was helping us out. Dad always loved this race and to do it for him is wonderful. Katie was brilliant on him. I have to give a big thanks to Michael and Eddie O'Leary for letting me have the horse and train him for it.
No problems for Mag again
She was very good. She just keeps stepping up every day. Every time we up her in class she steps up. We'll try and find something in Punchestown for her. I don't think there is a mares races and we'll look at the novices. She'll also get an entry for the mares hurdle. I don't know what she's like over hurdles!
Mallards In Flight can't catch Bell
Easter Monday treble for Martin
It was a great performance. It was a proper race and they went a gallop,. The way he picked up and quickened was impressive and there was only one horse galloping at the death. I couldn't be happier with him and he's a lovely horse for the future. It's great to have a good horse for the man (J P McManus) that owns him.
