Dedigout ends season with hat-trick success Dedigout rounded off his season in style when completing a hat-trick in the Keelings Irish Strawberry Hurdle at Fairyhouse. The Gigginstown gelding has had his share of problems in the past but again displayed that he is a class act when right. Paul Carberry produced the 2/1 favourite to lead before the last and he galloped on strongly in the closing stages to post a three-length success over last year's winner Thousand Stars. The Tony Martin-trained winner was adding to two other Grade 2 wins at Navan and Gowran in February and January. "It hasn't been easy with him. He looked a very promising horse when he won his novice at Punchestown but it just didn't work out for him over fences," said Martin.. "Last year he looked like a real World Hurdle horse but then chipped his knee here in December. Gerry Kelly (vet), Michael & Eddie O'Leary have done a great job getting him back. "He's had a great year and we'll lock him up now for next year and take it from there. "That's Carberry. He sits up and lets them do the work. Luckily when he gave him a squeeze the answer was there."
