Foley wins Roscommon's opener for Invincible Harrington
it's great to get the maiden out of the way. He ran well enough in the Curragh and I'd say he appreciated that little bit of an ease in the ground today. He's won that well and I'd say we'll look at a Listed race or something like that for him now. He did that easily and he said there was plenty in the tank. I'm delighted.
Prince pips Conqueror for second Roscommon win
he was brave; we thought we were third here the first day and we got a pleasant surprise when we won. We went down to Killarney and were a tad disappointed but I'd say it'll turn out a hot enough race in hindsight. Today under 9st8lbs and giving weight away to everything I thought it was a very brave performance from him. I think he was headed and he put his head down. This is a great track to be handy on and I thought both horse and jockey were good. It's a sign of a nice horse to do that. He enjoyed the ground, enjoyed the trip and it's two out of three now so it's not a bad performance. We'll see what the handicapper does now - he handled that ground and he's a fun horse for the syndicate to have.
Classic winners on the mark with newcomer Implement
they went good and hard and it fell into his lap a bit. He had a bit done without having too much done for his first run and it probably wasn't the strongest race in the world but its nice to get a bracket with him. He'll definitely improve from it. I gave him a few thumps when it was there for the winning; usually you wouldn't be that hard on them first time out but when they are there for the taking you have to take them.
Finn hails 'odder than myself' Youceeyouceecee
that's actually a surprise as I thought the ground was too quick for him. He wants it deep but loose. It has to rain the day before - he's odder than myself!. He's been working well at home and the health was good and everything but he actually quickened today and I was very surprised by it. We'll hopefully go to Listowel now. The owner is from there so it's very important we go there. I was a bit worried that he was getting down a bit in the handicap but he'll be okay now for the big race on the Tuesday.
Hatton Cross gains fourth career win
That's great - he's tough and the ground made a difference,. He ran well up the Curragh the last day and wasn't beaten all that far over six. He's come back to form so it's great. We'll look for more of the same now and might look at Killarney or somewhere. Once the ground stays soft we'll keep going.
Lordan competes Roscommon double
Try Again scores for Flynn and Coen
I wasn't actually going to run him as he wasn't eating. He never leaves food and he didn't eat since yesterday when I declared him so it was fifty-fifty but I knew he'd love the ground and the track. Yer man (St Gallen) got away from us in Galway but we can't say the draw beat us as he was outside us. He's a grand tough horse. All the horses are running well but we're getting all seconds and it's grand to get one on the board. He was going to go to a 0-70 in the Curragh in a week or so but we won't get in there now and he'll probably go to Listowel. He jumps well. I ran him on firm ground over hurdles and he couldn't handle the tracks I ran on him, as well as the ground. He's well handicapped over hurdles if he gets his conditions. He's probably better on longer tracks but having said that he might go back to Galway as you nearly have to run where the races are. We'll just keep him going to the end of the year now.
'No real plans' for Papal Parade
she cracked her shin last year so we missed most of last year and the ground was too fast this summer. We were waiting for a bit of soft ground and we hope she'll improve a bit from today. We gave her plenty of time and gave her one run before it got good and then just left her alone for the rest of the summer. We've no real plans but hopefully we'll have a good autumn with her now. That's her third win and she's very very tough and never knows when she's beaten.
