The Raceday Stewards received a report from Ms. A. O'Keeffee, Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Clerk of the Scales, regarding the fact that Mr D.M. Fitzgerald, rider of Carrig Wells, weighed in at 1.2 lbs overweight
Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who stated that he had a drink after weighing out and this accounted for the discrepancy in the weight. Having considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that Mr
D.M. Fitzgerald was in breach of Rule 231(iii) and having considered his record in this regard (third offence) they suspended him for three racedays.
