An enquiry was held to consider interference approaching the final furlong involving Enderman (GB), unplaced, ridden by Oisin Murphy, Astapor (GB), unplaced, ridden by Tom Marquand, The Good Ting (GB), placed fourth, ridden by Callum Shepherd, and the winner, Bomb Squad (IRE), ridden by Liam Keniry.
The interference was found to be accidental as at the same time as Keniry and Murphy went for legitimate runs on either side of Marquand, The Good Ting (GB) shifted marginally left causing all of the runners on its inside to tighten, which in turn caused Marquand to take a check off the heels of Bomb Squad (IRE).
On the run to the line, the winner, Bomb Squad (IRE), ridden by Liam Keniry, shifted slightly right despite Keniry’s best efforts causing Callum Shepherd, the rider of the weakening The Good Ting (GB), placed fourth, to take a slight check, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Bomb Squad (IRE).
