Approximately 1½ furlongs out, Refuge (GB), placed second, hung right onto Auckland Lodge (IRE), placed third, which in turn interfered with Captain Corcoran (IRE), placed seventh, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Refuge (GB).
An enquiry was held to consider interference approaching the final half a furlong involving the winner, Mews House (GB), ridden by Sam James and Auckland Lodge (IRE), placed fourth, ridden by Andrew Mullen.
James was cautioned for careless riding as he allowed his mount to drift left under a right-hand drive without sufficient correction, momentarily tightening Auckland Lodge for room.
