An enquiry was held to consider interference approaching the final furlong between Spantik (GB), placed eighth, ridden by Ben Curtis and Betty Grable (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Rhona Pindar.
Being a 7lb claimer, Pindar was offered accompaniment in the enquiry, but declined.
The interference was found to be accidental as Spantik (GB) was hanging right and Betty Grable (IRE) was hanging left and as the two runners came together, Spantik (GB) became unbalanced causing Curtis to lose an iron.
Following the race, Billy Garritty reported that he felt Walkonby (GB) lost its action and weakened quickly and he felt it prudent to pull the filly up.
The Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
