Leaving the stalls, The Daley Express (IRE), unplaced, ducked sharply left inconveniencing Charming Kid (GB), unplaced, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approximately 1 furlong after the start involving Ornate (GB), placed second, ridden by Phil Dennis; Atiyah (GB), placed fifth, ridden by Connor Beasley; Show Me A Sunset (GB), unplaced, ridden by Luke Morris and The Daley Express (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Jason Watson.
Dennis was suspended for 3 days for careless riding as he had allowed his mount to drift left- handed when not clear of Show Me A Sunset (GB) causing that gelding to be hampered when tightened for room and in turn intimidate Atiyah (GB), which was hanging left-handed off its intended line and across the running of The Daley Express (IRE), causing Watson to check his mount.
Following the race, Elisha Whittington reported that Idoapologise (GB), placed fourth, was denied a clear run and P J McDonald reported that Charming Kid (GB), unplaced, was restless in the stalls and missed the break as a result; the Veterinary Officer reported that the gelding lost its left fore shoe.
The Veterinary Officer also reported that The Daley Express (IRE), unplaced, was struck into on its right hind.
