An enquiry was held to consider interference shortly after the start when Letemgo (IRE), placed third, ridden by Colm McCormack interfered with the winner, Scorpo (IRE), ridden by Mr Philip Armson.
McCormack was suspended for 6 days for improper riding as he had made a manoeuvre towards the rails, when it ought to have been obvious to the rider that interference would result, causing Scorpo (IRE) to be squeezed out.
Following the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that Sevenballs Of Fire (IRE), had bled from the nose.
Jamie Hamilton reported that Houndscourt (IRE), placed sixth, hung left-handed throughout.
An enquiry was held into the circumstances surrounding the running of Forever Dylan (IRE), ridden by Alain Cawley and trained by Micky Hammond, which was examined pre race by the Veterinary Surgeon, having appeared, in the jockey’s opinion to take a false step.
Having been examined, both the Veterinary Surgeon and the rider deemed the gelding fit to run.
The Veterinary Officer reported that Forever Dylan (IRE) was found to be moderately lame on its right hind during a routine post race test.
The rider and the trainer were interviewed and shown recordings of the race.
The rider stated that the gelding made mistakes at the first two fences and he felt as if something was amiss and felt it prudent to pull up.
Their explanations were noted.
