Andrew Breslin, the rider of Dollarindex (GB), unplaced, reported that the buckle on his left rein had come loose, causing the rein to become detached shortly after the start.
Having inspected the bridle, the Stewards were satisfied that the bridle was in a serviceable condition and that the incident was caused by the pin on the buckle becoming loose.
The apparent improvement in form of the winner, Edgewater Drive (IRE), which had never previously been placed, was considered.
Wilf Storey’s representative’s explanation that the gelding appreciated the drop back in trip on this occasion from 1m to 6f was noted.
Edgewater Drive (IRE) was routine tested.
