An enquiry was held to consider interference turning in when Dillian (IRE), placed fourth, ridden by David Egan, interfered with Typewriter (IRE), unplaced, ridden by David Probert.
The interference was found to be accidental as Lionel (GB), placed third, ridden by Jamie Spencer, brushed the inside the rail causing Spencer to steady his mount slightly as Dillian (IRE) stepped marginally right-handed, resulting in Probert, who was improving his position at the time, having to take a check against the running rail, causing Typewriter (IRE) to become unbalanced and Probert to lose his whip.
An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference approximately 1 ½ furlongs out involving Thanks Monica (IRE), placed fifth, ridden by Hector Crouch, Secret State (IRE), placed sixth, ridden by William Buick, and Lionel (GB), placed third, ridden by Jamie Spencer.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved Thanks Monica (IRE)’s placing as considering how the 2 runners were travelling prior to the incident, the amount of ground and momentum lost was less than the extending ¾ length at the line.
The interference was found to be accidental as Thanks Monica (IRE) ducked sharply right-handed, despite Crouch’s best efforts, resulting in Secret State (IRE) receiving a substantial bump when short for room between Thanks Monica (IRE) and Lionel (GB).
