Permission was given for Mummy's Boy (GB) to wear a red hood in the preliminaries.
Leaving the stalls Emulation (GB), unplaced, jumped right-handed giving Ship To Shore (GB), placed fourth, a significant bump, but after viewing a recording of the incident it was found that no riding offence was involved.
Leaving the stalls Reset Button (GB), unplaced, jumped right-handed carrying Valley Of Flowers, unplaced, onto the winner International Law (GB), which became unbalanced after receiving a bump, but after viewing a recording of the incident it was found that no riding offence was involved.
An enquiry was held to consider interference on the first bend involving Emulation (GB), unplaced, ridden by William Carson and Valley Of Flowers (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Mark Winn.
Carson was cautioned for careless riding as he had allowed his mount to edge left-handed to the rail without being fully clear of a free-running Valley Of Flowers (IRE), resulting in Winn taking a slight check off his heels.
A second enquiry was held to consider more interference entering the first bend involving Sicario (IRE), placed third, ridden by Luke Morris, Reset Button (GB), unplaced, ridden by David Probert and Gold Standard (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Clifford Lee.
The incident was found to be accidental as Reset Button (GB) had to be checked against the rail after Sicario (IRE) edged marginally and briefly left-handed away from Gold Standard (IRE).
A third enquiry was held to consider further interference entering the first bend involving Flood Defence (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Kevin Stott, the winner International Law (GB), ridden by Cam Hardie, Victory March (IRE), placed second, ridden by Dale Swift and Lucky Draw (GB), unplaced, ridden by Trevor Whelan.
The incident was found to be accidental as Victory March (IRE) had shifted slightly left-handed away from Lucky Draw (GB) crowding a very free-running International Law (GB) onto Flood Defence (IRE) which had to be severely checked on the rail after a combination of running out of room and onto the heels of Reset Button (GB) which had been checked and fell back into its lap.
An enquiry was held to consider interference on the bend leaving the back straight involving Victory March (IRE), placed second, ridden by Dale Swift, Valley Of Flowers (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Mark Winn, Sicario (IRE), placed third, ridden by Luke Morris and Emulation (GB), unplaced, ridden by William Carson.
The interference was found to be accidental as Winn had angled his mount right-handed to avoid the heels of a rapidly weakening Emulation (GB) and positioned himself to that horses outside.
A short distance later Morris who had been one horse off the rail throughout the race found himself with two runners on his inside and was unable to relieve the pressure due to being tight for racing room inside Victory March, with Swift having been 3 wide most of the back straight, before suddenly having three horses trying to negotiate the bend on his inner and this resulted in Sicario (IRE) being forced onto Valley Of Flowers which was crowded onto the rail causing Emulation (GB) to be severely checked.
Reset Button (GB), unplaced, and the winner International Law (GB) which were following both had to be checked and Flood Defence, unplaced, was badly hampered.
Approaching the home bend, a free running Valley Of Flowers (IRE), unplaced, lugged right-handed at the same time as the winner International Law (GB), edged slightly left-handed, causing Reset Button (GB), unplaced, to be checked and Be Fair (GB), placed sixth, which was following to be inconvenienced.
However, after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of any horse.
An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference inside the final furlong, when Victory March (IRE),
