Scream roars home to keep Keane in the hunt
She's good and consistent and she's dropped down the weights. I told the boys that when they go below (a mark of) 70 I don't want them and they agreed that I could head her for this race and we agreed the price. The way she's won you'd expect her to be claimed and I'd wish whoever does the very best of luck. She's good and honest, she operates up here so she's a ready-made horse and ready to rock. She's been good for the syndicate. I thought she was going to be a bit better than she is and maybe I was confusing that she wanted different ground and things but she's honest. It keeps Colin in the hunt for the moment and keeps it interesting.
No Speed Limit in Dundalk for Fogarty and Sheehy
To be honest I didn't think he'd handle this and always thought he wanted soft ground. He's been working super at home and actually works with Forever In Dreams. He has loads of ability and has a good turn of foot. He seemed to last out seven well which I thought he mightn't either. Con Marnane wanted to try him here and he might get another day hopefully. We'll keep him on the go. He actually won on the polytrack in France but I think that's a little bit softer than here. I didn't think he'd handle it but Con did.
On Tick in credit on the Polytrack
He deserved to win that tonight. He had a nice mark. We tried the cheekpieces, not because he is ungenuine, just to get him to travel better in his race. He just seemed to be missing the kick and then was on his head early. Today he pinged the gates and travelled lovely, hopefully there are a few more races in him. He's been second and third a few times and he's been unlucky, bumped into a some nice horses. He's done the job tonight and might get a little break now but Mark said there is a winners of one next month and he could come back for that before he gets his break. We'll see how he comes out of tonight.
Thames River flows in for O'Briens
I liked him the first day, he was very raw. He's obviously stepped up a bit today but he's still quite raw. He's got a bit of an engine and that got him through. He's pricking his ears and he's all over the shop. I think he'll be better next year.
Pretty Smart decision to try six in Dundalk
It was a long time coming. She ran two good races in Navan and we thought the extra furlong would suit her. She was missing the kick a bit early on and we worked hard on that this week. It paid off tonight, from a bad draw she was able to get into a good position. She was a little bit free early on but she has plenty of gears. Having been racing over five and coming up to six she was probably doing a little bit more than we wanted. Conor was looking forward to riding her from the time he was sixth on her at Navan. He's always done a good job for me and he's a real professional. I wouldn't mind going back to five but Conor said if we go back to five we mightn't be able to do six again because she might get too free. She's versatile enough and over five she might settle in a bit. She's a half-sister to Aspen Belle and she has some of her characteristics, she's a bit hot but she has ability.
Hazel Bay makes the breakthrough
Latchet a first winner for Breen
That's my first winner and I had a funny feeling it would be at Dundalk as it's our local track. I got her in the July Sale and she's been a bit unlucky for us, I thought she would have won by now but she's won tonight so I'm happy enough. I have eight in training and a few yearlings. I have some nice horses to kick on with. I'll concentrate mainly on the Flat but if anything wants a trip and a hurdle they'll definitely get it.
