Permission was given for Drish Hero (IRE) and Quanah (IRE) to go early to post and for Gustav Graves (GB) to be mounted in the chute and to go early to post.
An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference on the run to the line involving Deevious Beau (GB), placed third, ridden by Connor Beasley and Twentysharesofgrey (GB), placed second, ridden by Laura Pearson.
After hearing evidence from both riders and viewing recordings of the incident, it was established that Twentysharesofgrey (GB) had hung right-handed and made contact with Deevious Beau (GB), slightly hampering that gelding.
Bearing in mind the minimal nature of the interference, alongside where the incident occurred and how both horses were finishing the race off, together with the neck margin separating them, the Stewards considered that the interference had not improved Twentysharesofgrey (GB)’s placing.
The interference was found to be accidental as Twentysharesofgrey (GB) was hanging right-handed despite Pearson's best efforts to straighten the filly.
The performance of Drish Hero (IRE), which started favourite and finished unplaced, was considered.
Ivan Furtado explained that the race had come too soon for the gelding, after having raced 6 days previously.
The Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of Drish Hero (IRE) during routine testing, failed to reveal any abnormalities.
Following the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that Knockabout Queen (GB), unplaced, bled from the nose.
