An enquiry was held to consider interference shortly after the start involving the winner QUERCUS ROBER, ridden by Miss Lois Teal, Bigbadboy (IRE), placed fifth, ridden by Miss Alice Stevens and Royal Countess (GB), unplaced, ridden by Miss Becky Smith.
Miss Teal was suspended for 4 days on dates to be notified to her by the Head Office of the British Horseracing Authority, for careless riding as she allowed QUERCUS ROBER to drift left-handed towards the rail taking Royal Countess (GB) off its intended line, which in turn caused Miss Smith to take a check for several strides on Royal Countess (GB).
Following the race, Miss Becky Smith reported that Royal Countess (GB), unplaced, suffered interference shortly after the start.
