Aaraas leaves it late in opener
She's a nice type of filly and when she steps up in trip she'll be even better,. She came on a lot from her run at the Curragh and the boss is very happy with her. I didn't think she had got up and Declan wasn't sure - and he's usually good at knowing.
Patrickswell rallies gamely
He's a horse that has ability but he's a bit of a monkey and doesn't kill himself,. I rang the course this morning to see what the ground was like as he needs it good to firm. We'll keep him going in handicaps over the summer.
Stones Peaks at right time
We've been running her over seven and she's been travelling well,. Last time at Down Royal she nearly got brought to a stand still when she was going well. We decided to drop her back in trip tonight and we probably found the worst race in Ireland!. Three furlongs out I thought she was going to be last but Padraig said they went too fast and came back to her, which probably made her look good.
Moon shines for Culloty
I fancied him today. He's been a bit unlucky and has been drawn wide and unlucky in running,. I've had this race in mind for him for some time as I thought it would suit. I'd like to step him up in trip but there's not too many handicaps over a longer trip. The Ulster Derby (at Down Royal) is an option while there is also a mile-and-a-half handicap at the Curragh for him.
Cloudgazer lands a touch
I like this horse. I think he wants further, 1m4f or 1m6f, and I think he will improve again,.
Casbah Rocks on at Navan
Johnny gets on great with him. He's genuine and very straight forward,. He's in again at Leopardstown on Thursday. If the ground stays fast and he comes out of this well he'll go there.
Foley doubles up on Foot
That's only her second start in a handicap and she didn't run badly here last time over 1m2f,. She had the form in the book with Royal Blue Star (third to her here) and she franked the form last Sunday. I'm delighted to win with her as she's a home-bred. She's not the easiest filly to train but Shane gets on well with her.
