FormscanBy Donal Murphy - JACK HOLIDAY might prove difficult to peg back if getting his own way out in front. Successful when making all on his second start for David Christie at Wexford early last month, he since finished fourth in a stronger contest at Killarney. Already a three-time winner at Tramore, Mater Matuta is sure to prove popular with punters. A versatile performer, she still looks nicely treated off a mark of 104 and it'll be disappointing if she's not involved towards the business end. Just Jacob galloped his rivals into the ground when making all here last month. Since third at Ballinrobe on Friday last, it'll come as no surprise if he manages to take this. Disappointing since her win here in June, handicap debutant Purse Price warrants respect with Jack Kennedy aboard, while recent Downpatrick victor Ricky Langford is another leading hope.
An extended handicap steeplechase for four years old and upwards (116 = 11st 12lbs)Penalties - Winner of a steeplechase after calculation of the handicap shall carry 7lb extra for each steeplechase won.

Quotes on Ebasari (IRE)
Jack is usually not far wrong. We were a bit worried about fitness. Jack went for this lad, he probably had the better form in the book. If you go back and have a look at it (Boodles), it wasn't that disappointing, he never got into the race. It was a very, very messy race. It was obviously disappointing on the day, but the race didn't work out. He's a nice horse and we'll have a bit of fun with him. We'll mix and match on the Flat and over jumps with him. He looks like he is well handicapped on the Flat. He travelled today like he did in Cork the first day with Davy Russell, so he's a nice horse. Galway was originally where I was going to go, but this race came along and we had to take our chance. Whether Galway comes a bit soon, I don't know. I'll have a talk with the lads and see what they think. The owners are good Summerhill people, you can't beat them! They were all watching Summerhill last night playing football. Douglas Dc ran a good race, Jordan said he didn't handle the track. After Ebasari (IRE) finished 1st at Downpatrick on Wed, 13th Jul 2022 2m 1f Hurdle Good to Yielding

Quotes on Mister Wilson (IRE)
I'd say the flat track was a big help to him as he needs an easy two miles. I couldn't see him staying two-miles on heavy ground during the winter and they got racing early enough today which wasn't ideal, but he had been banging on the door and was due a win. His hurdle experience stood to him but is still learning. He wears a hood, is a keen-going sort but he's getting there. After Mister Wilson (IRE) finished 1st at Listowel on Mon, 5th Jun 2023 2m Maiden Hurdle Good to Yielding

Quotes on Mater Matuta (IRE)
We're delighted with that. She loves it here - I don't know what it is, maybe it's the seaside air, she's used to that at home. Just looking at the paper the other day and we had the best strike rate after Willie Mullins coming down here this weekend. We'll probably head to Bellewstown now in a fortnight's time for another handicap hurdle, it's very hard to get chases to suit her. We might bring her to the strand at Laytown after that. After Mater Matuta (IRE) finished 1st at Tramore on Sun, 18th Aug 2024 2m Hcap Hurdle Good

Quotes on Ricky Langford (IRE)
he has been a good, fun horse and has won five races for us now. He is owned by the Kings Horses Syndicate - I was in school in Kings Hospital in Dublin and a bunch of friends from there own him. I gave him to them a few years ago and he has been great and has near enough paid his way. hopefully we'll get another day out of him but ultimately is for sale and is one that will be going to England this year. There is a ladies' race in Cartmel in a few weeks time and we might go over there with him - a few of the lads from the syndicate are living in England now. He would be a super horse for England on good ground — he'd nearly be a 'Saturday horse' in handicap chases over there. After Ricky Langford (IRE) finished 1st at Wexford on Fri, 7th Jul 2023 2m Hcap Hurdle Good to Yielding

Quotes on Must Be Dreaming (IRE)
we picked her up cheaply. She had a good run in Cork on the Flat and when she came up for sale, I thought she might make a summer mare. She is by Canford Cliffs and I thought she would like a bit of nicer ground and her dam (Maontri) was good on the Flat. JJ said she has a real brain for hurdles so I don't think we will be going back on the level too fast. She won cannily enough and hopefully we can find another race like that. There is another one here in a fortnight's time but she is rated 89 so it depends what she gets from the handicapper. After Must Be Dreaming (IRE) finished 1st at Wexford on Wed, 25th May 2022 2m 1f Hcap Hurdle Good

Quotes on Prince Of Air (FR)
We were hoping for a good run, but he had been pretty disappointing to be honest. He had a good run here last year when he was third. He was a bit disappointing in Kilbeggan and then had an okay run in Ballinrobe. Calling a spade a spade, I'd say today wasn't the strongest race in the world and we were lucky it divided. . We might go over fences with him now, run him in a chase off his hurdle mark and see would he be any better. He won today, but made hard work of it. Gavin Kinch is with me for 20 years I'd say, nearly since I started. He has been a lucky owner and while this lad got an injury and was out of action for a while, it's great that we've been able to bring him back and win with him. Gavin has been super supportive for years and I'm delighted to have another winner for him. He is from Craanford near Gorey and his local GAA club won a final last night, so I'd say he will celebrate with them this evening. We had three handicap runners today and they finished first, second and third. The horses are running really well, and I'd love to turn a few more of the placed ones into winners, but they are going good. After Prince Of Air (FR) finished 1st at Tramore on Sun, 20th Aug 2023 2m Hcap Hurdle Yielding
