FormscanBy Gary Carson - The strong travelling KING OF KINGSFIELD hasn't always found the most off the bridle and fences may really suit him now. He won his point-to-point in facile fashion a couple of years ago and it will be interesting to see how the Grade 1 placed hurdler fares now that he turns his attention to chasing. Stablemate Down Memory Lane is one of four in JP McManus's colours and could be the danger. The Walk In The Park gelding lost his unbeaten record when a well-beaten third in Grade 1 company last Christmas but remains a lovely prospect for chasing. Galway Hurdle winner Nurburgring is another notable runner, trying fences for the first time.

Quotes on Backtonormal (IRE)
Tom Furlong (part owner) put in my first gallop and he’s a great fella. He runs in Darren Cahill’s colours who is also a great supporter of the yard as well. It’s a great pot to win. It’s his first run for me - Mags had him and he was banging on the door. It was an obvious target and we just had enough time to transition from Mags’ to here. His form was good and I thought he’d run well. He stayed well and it looks like he’ll make a nice chaser. After Backtonormal (IRE) finished 1st at Punchestown on Wed, 1st May 2024 2m 3f Hurdle Good to Yielding

Quotes on Down Memory Lane (IRE)
We are very lucky to have a great bunch of horses and great owners and great staff. Derek was very happy but look it wasn't a wonderful race on paper, so you would be disappointed if he didn't do that. I liked what I saw there. We'll get him home and see how he is and make a plan, I think we'll stick to two miles at the moment. He showed a lot of boot there and a lot of class. After Down Memory Lane (IRE) finished 1st at Down Royal on Sat, 11th Nov 2023 2m Maiden Hurdle Soft

Quotes on Gringo D'aubrelle (FR)
He’s a nice horse but probably wants two and a half miles. I loved the way he put his head out. Davy (Russell) said when he was on his own he was very idle. He galloped all the way up the straight. The second horse is a nice horse and we had the experience of a run over hurdles and race fitness on our side. We’ll look at Christmas or Naas. I’ll have a word with Noel (Moran, owner) and see what we do. The further he goes the better he’ll be.After Gringo D'aubrelle (FR) finished 1st at Fairyhouse on Sat, 27th Nov 2021 2m Maiden Hurdle Good

Quotes on King Of Kingsfield (IRE)
That was great. We were riding him all wrong and the last day we changed our minds in the Grade One. Jack (Kennedy) was delighted with the way he settled and he jumped well, so we’re very happy. He’s not a bad horse and to be honest he had disappointed me up until now as I always thought he was a proper horse. He might just come good now, I’d say the ground could be key to him as well. After King Of Kingsfield (IRE) finished 1st at Leopardstown on Tue, 26th Dec 2023 2m Maiden Hurdle Yielding

Quotes on No Flies On Him (IRE)
We're absolutely thrilled with him,. I chose him as a three-year-old at the Derby Sale, JP very kindly let me pick one out. He in turn then sent him for a proper education, to boarding school, to Derek O'Connor who did a fantastic job with him. Then he came back to me this autumn. He has a wonderful pedigree, his great grandmother is the dam of Makybe Diva who won three Melbourne Cups. He looks like a very promising horse. I've had a lot of swans in the last few years and they've all turned out to be geese but I think this fella might stay a swan. Mark said that there wasn't any great pace so he was very happy to be in front. He jumped superb and maybe got a little bit lonely after the last but he was very happy with him. I suppose I'll be told what to do with him but I wouldn't mind stepping him up. The horse that was second to him in his point-to-point (Jango Baie) won first time out at Ascot for Nicky Henderson. He runs in a Grade 1 at Aintree today so it will be interesting to see how he runs. He'll have to be entered in Grade 1s anyway and fingers crossed I think he might just get there. He's got size and scope and he's only a four-year-old. I think there is going to be tremendous improvement in him, I hope so. Hopefully he stays lucky, stays right and healthy. I've been waiting for one like this for too long, thank-God the number six bus has arrived and I'd love if a second one would arrive in a hurry. After No Flies On Him (IRE) finished 1st at Leopardstown on Tue, 26th Dec 2023 2m Maiden Hurdle Yielding

Quotes on Birdie Or Bust (IRE)
Obviously we got a bit of luck but she ran really well and we were delighted with her. She definitely wasn't herself in the north the last day but looked back to herself today with the way she jumped and travelled. She didn't seem herself in Down Royal. Quotes on Nurburgring (IRE)
When he ran well in Punchestown, we decided this was a good mid-summer target. He had a little holiday and then had a nice run over a shortish trip on the flat at Leopardstown to blow the cobwebs away. He came here with the four-year-olds allowance and really it was a fantastic ride from JJ. He got a good start, a lovely position and made a lovely move at the top of the hill. It was a very impressive performance. He was a fresh horse today and was dropping from a Grade 1 into a handicap, which is always a help. Today was the target so we won't rush him back but he will be going back into graded races somewhere. After Nurburgring (IRE) finished 1st at Galway on Thu, 1st Aug 2024 2m Hcap Hurdle Good to Yielding
