Bukhill has been brilliant for me and I'm delighted to get the spin on him, he's a smashing horse. He travelled away there like a dream and jumped everywhere, just got a little bit lonely up the straight and then went on again when the other horse came to me. They didn't go a mad pace and he was able to travel in his comfort zone. He had a nice bit of speed to quicken on and away he went. He really tries hard and is very genuine. He's a very, very good horse. We were very disappointed whenever Facile Vega beat him as easily as he did back in Leopardstown, but you just have to take that on the chin and go on. He wasn't quite right in Punchestown and I probably shouldn't have run him that day. He's had a good break and has strengthened up well. The plan was always to go hurdling with him but, just the way this race cut up, I stuck him in it. Our hand was forced really, we had to go and run. I'd imagine now we would be straight over hurdles with him, he has his schooling all done and he is ready to go hurdling unless there is another bumper for him. I'm friendly with Warren (Ewing) who had sold the horse (runner-up Better Days Ahead) to Gordon (Elliott). Both Gordon and Warren were very sweet on that horse and he could be a very good horse too. It was grand to get it. If he could improve from his bumper form and, touch wood he has been a good jumper, he could be exciting. he is a nice horse but still has a bit to learn and is a bit immature and novicey. He has a lot of ability though and that is the main thing. Gordon's horse (Elliott, The Bosses Oscar) probably returned to form there and it was probably a good performance to beat him. we missed a lot of time after I got him first - we were trying to get things right so I think we will keep him going now. There is not much left for him over hurdles and he should be just as good over fences but we will school him, see how he goes and then decide. At home recently he wouldn't blow you away with how he was going and I said to Rachael that he'd either win or run brutal. The last day Rachael rode him she said he stopped under her and while he scoped perfectly, obviously the operation was what he wanted.
