FormscanBy Alan Magee - RAUZAN struck form when successful over this trip at Tramore and followed up in even more impressive fashion when drawing clear on the run-in at this venue last month. The Eoin Doyle-trained gelding looks a progressive sort and can complete the hat-trick in what should be a strongly run event. Littlebiggie made all over this distance at Killarney, while Disco Dancer won at Cork last time and also likes to be up with the pace. Point-to-point winner Koori Star made a winning start under Rules at Sligo, while Notkeepinyagoing impressed when easily winning a 2m4f Leopardstown maiden on testing ground in March but has disappointed on both outings since.

She was running well last winter but if she had been younger, I wouldn't have run her during the winter but it was just to get the experience into her. She had been buzzy and I won't say she was a handful but was just that little bit babyish. That ground, jumping out smartly like that and the trip were important to her. She doesn't quicken but has a good high tempo and is a nice one to have for the summer. You'd like to think she'll be a better mare over fences too as she jumps great. She deserves it as she's consistent. Although it's soft ground here today, it was just too soft in Tramore last time. Her form before that was pretty solid. Hopefully the handicapper doesn't take it too literally, it probably wasn't the greatest of maiden hurdles. She should be competitive off the mark she has now in a handicap or maybe a little winners' race somewhere. She doesn't owe them (Planetary Orbit Syndicate) anything as she's won a bumper in Galway and now a maiden hurdle here. She wasn't expensive. We'll keep going for another while. He keeps a lot to himself, a lot of time he just does what he needs to. I'd say there is plenty of engine there. We'll probably go back to the Flat with him. Hopefully we can tip away in the better handicaps over a mile-and-six or two miles. He stays well. He'll probably come back here for a Flat race in April, at the minute that's the plan. I got a few lads to buy him back because I thought we'd have plenty of fun with him during the summer. I bought him off Mick Halford. He was running over the winter on heavy ground. He had a nice run in a maiden hurdle at Gowran one day but he just wasn't in love with that heavy ground. We ran him here the last day and he just never seemed to travel over two miles. Mick was running him over a mile-and-five to a mile-and-six on the flat and I'd say he just needs to get into his comfort zone. He picked up well tonight and I'd say he will come on again for the run. He is handicapped on the flat as well, so he could run over two miles on the flat.
