A progressive three-time hurdle winner last year, his recent chase form is good, ran a cracker to finish second at Listed level last month and today's rider now claims 7lb. Miss Gherkin also contested a smart Killarney handicap last month and now meets more experienced rivals on chase debut. She is an able 113-rated hurdler who notably receives her mares' 7lb allowance though, although both her wins have come over two miles. he has been disappointing but seemed to get his mojo back. Funny enough he ran two good races for Philip (Enright) before and then was disappointing and then he has ridden him again today. We thought he was a nice horse but he lost his way a bit. I think the track is important to him as he ran well in Navan and Naas and he needs more of a galloping track. If I had ducks at the moment I'd have to teach them how to swim because they might just drown! I thought this was the ideal race for him after going up (in the weights) having won over 2m3f on soft ground the last day. He was back in trip, but I wanted to let him roll on and Paddy (O'Hanlon) is so good at making the running. He was left to dictate and around here that suits and his jumping was better today. He was second over fences the last day in Clonmel on quick ground and we said we would come back here hoping for quick ground. It is great to get a winner for them and the connection comes from another former pupil Jonathan Moore (jockey) who advises me. we always thought a wee bit of him and we thought maybe Mighty Mo Missouri might have got a hard race at Cheltenham and we were glad to take him on on the day. I think he'll handle any ground but I think he'll be better on better ground. Hopefully he can improve now and tip on.
