D.E. Mullins, rider of Little Rocky (GB), trained by D. T. Hughes, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount hung to the right in the latter stages of this race. The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Alileo (GER), trained by W.P. Mullins, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be blowing hard post race. The Stewards interviewed A.D. Leigh, rider of Railway Tommy, concerning his use of the whip when racing at the rear of the contestants in the latter part of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards accepted his explanation and took no action.
