Permission was given for both Captain Cobajay (IRE) and Don Juan Du Gouet (FR) to go early to post.
Eddie Edge, the rider of DON JUAN DU GOEUT (FR), placed third, was suspended for 7 days for using his whip above the permitted level from the third last hurdle.
Being a 7Ib Claiming Conditional, Edge was accompanied in the enquiry by a senior rider.
At the back of the last hurdle, Don Juan Du Gouet (FR), placed third, shifted slightly right-handed carrying Seaborough (IRE), placed second, off its intended line causing the gelding to become momentarily unbalanced and in turn leaving Al Kherb (GB), placed sixth, short of room, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
The winner, Treasured Company (IRE), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Bangor on 30 July 2021 where the gelding finished thirteenth of fifteen, beaten by 33 lengths.
It was noted that the representative of Sue Smith could offer no explanation for Treasured Company (IRE)’s improved form on this occasion.
Following the race, Jack Tudor reported that Global Wonder (IRE), unplaced, was never travelling.
