Permission was given for Stranger Things (GB) to be mounted on the chute.
An enquiry was held into the riding of Bella Colorossa (GB), ridden by Jack Mitchell and trained by John Best and Karen Jewell who raced prominently before starting to weaken in the straight.
Mitchell appeared to stop riding for a few strides inside the final furlong, before continuing his ride on the run to the line, finishing seventh of nine, beaten 4 ¾ lengths.
The rider was interviewed and shown recordings of the race; the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the mare failed to reveal any abnormalities.
The rider stated that he was instructed to ride the mare prominently.
He added that inside the final furlong, when weakening, he anticipated interference from his left and he thought it prudent to stop riding before continuing his ride to the line.
His explanation was noted.
