Josephine Gordon, the rider of LIPPY LADY (IRE), was slow to remove the blindfold. After being interviewed and shown recordings of the incident, Gordon explained that the filly was tricky to load, meaning she wanted to leave the removal of the blind as late as possible. LIPPY LADY (IRE) had then dwelt leaving the stalls meaning Gordon didn't have enough momentum to remove it as quickly as she would have liked. Her explanation was noted.
The apparent improvement in form of the winner, GRANDEE DAISY, which had never previously been placed, was considered. Jo Hughes was interviewed. Her comments that the filly had benefited from being ridden by a more experienced rider on this occasion were noted, and GRANDEE DAISY was routine tested.
