Permission was given for Harry's Hero (GB) to wear a red hood to post, and for Haaland (IRE) to wear a red hood to post and be mounted in the chute.
Sister Of Thor (IRE), trained by Jonathan Portman, had arrived at the start with a small amount of blood in it's nostril, but having been examined by the Veterinary Surgeon, the filly was deemed fit to race.
An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race following interference inside the final furlong involving the winner, HARRY’S HERO, ridden by Kieran O’Neill, and Direct Security (IRE), placed second, ridden by Rossa Ryan.
The Stewards considered that the interference had improved the placing of HARRY’S HERO as Direct Security (IRE) had been taken a significant distance across the track and had received a bump in the final strides before the line to be beaten by only a diminishing short head.
The interference was found to be accidental as HARRY’S HERO had hung left-handed despite O’Neill’s best efforts to correct the colt.
The placings were revised as follows: First, Direct Security (IRE); Second, HARRY’S HERO; Third, Charming Lily (GB); Fourth, Outgun (GB).
