Cape Agulhas (IRE) was found to have blood in his mouth in the Parade Ring.
After being examined by the Veterinary Officer the gelding was found to have bitten his tongue and was deemed fit to race.
Franny Norton, the rider of Social City (GB), placed third, had appeared to stop riding shortly before the winning post.
After being interviewed and shown recordings of the incident, Norton explained that he had eased down on the final stride before the line by which point Homesick Boy (IRE), placed second, was already past him.
His explanation was noted.
Approximately three and a half furlongs out, Mr Fox (GB), placed fifth, shifted left-handed away from the weakening Pepper Street (IRE), unplaced, causing interference to In Demand (IRE), unplaced.
After viewing a recording of the incident it was found that no riding offence was involved and it had not improved the placing of Mr Fox (GB).
Following the race, Adam Kirby reported that In Demand (IRE), unplaced, suffered interference approximately three and a half furlongs out, and Ben Curtis reported that Pepper Street (IRE), unplaced, stopped quickly.
