Rounding the final bend, Gonzaga (GB), placed seventh, was momentarily eased by the rider when Knockout Blow (GB), placed fourth, shifted marginally left at the same time as Brazen Point (GB), placed firth, edged right.
After viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and it had not improved the placing of any horse.
Following the race, Martin Dwyer reported that Elusif (IRE), was never travelling in the early stages; Conrad Allen reported that the gelding was found to be coughing post-race.
Tyler Heard reported that Mungo's Quest (IRE), placed sixth, ran too free and was denied a clear run rounding the final bend.
