The Stewards interviewed R.P. Treacy, rider of Silver Sally, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards found R.P. Treacy in breach of Reg 10 3. (g) by using his whip with the arm above shoulder height and having taken his record into account the Stewards cautioned the rider regarding his future responsibilities in this regard. The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Palm Sur, trained by J.R. Barry, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal. B.T. O'Connell, rider of Palm Sur trained by J.R. Barry, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount made mistakes. R.P. Treacy, rider of Silver Sally trained by Thomas P. Cummins, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount hung badly from the second last.
