Bob lands the odds in opener
He's a horse I liked all summer and as you can see by the size of him he's one to look forward to next year,. It would have been nice if he had won at Navan first time as we could have packed him away for the year then. My reaction at Navan was that I didn't want to run him on soft ground. I had no doubt about here as he handles the surface well at home. He's a big honest horse and one to look forward to. I've had a great year for Mrs Battina of Anamoine Ltd. I think I've won with everything she has sent me.
Trail lands touch
He worked very well up the Polytrack on the Curragh last weekend and we were hoping for an improved effort on his handicap debut,. He seems to like that surface. I told the owners to have a few pounds on each-way after he worked. He was a bit rusty early on but travelled well into the race and done it well in the end. He was a slow horse to come to hand and had a few niggling problems. He started to come right this year and hopefully he can go on from this. He'll probably come back here next week for a similar race.
Fandango leads them merry dance
He won well and and I'm very happy with him. He needs top of the ground and likes the all-weather,. He had a little walk up this morning and I was delighted by the way he looked. All went according to plan. He'll run again before the end of the season - it's just everytime he gets in. Hopefully the handicapper isn't too hard on him. He had just went off the boil a bit this year. That's his class of race and it wouldn't be fair to put him up too far.
O'Donoghue times it well on Dandy
He would have been an unlucky loser if he didn't get the gap,. He's a lovely horse and will make into a nice horse next year. We'll put him away now and hopefully he might progress into a stakes horse. It's been a good season and it's great to finish it off well. It's great for Mr Al Basti, who I'm sure will be delighted watching this in Dubai.
Flicker too strong for rivals
Cole battles well for Foley
I think there is another race for him here next week,. I don't think we'll keep going with him over the winter over hurdles as he wants goodish ground.
Murtagh shines on Baracas
I'm happy to get that. He wasn't settling in his races over hurdles and even the night he won his bumper here he didn't settle,. I think over the 1m2f the faster pace suited him. He's still a bit of a baby and immature in his ways. We'll put him away now and bring him back next year for a summer dual purpose campaign. We'll keep him a novice over hurdles. He needs genuinely good ground and we have no chance of getting it. I think this country is sinking!. He loves this surface here and could be paying a few visits next year.
Saint lands double for Foley
He gave him a very good ride,. He deserves it as he missed three weeks of the season with suspension which lost him second place in the apprentice title. That puts him back into second. He gave him a very patient ride as we weren't confident about him staying. But he was very cool and did well to find a way through.
