An enquiry was held to consider two incidents of interference inside the final half furlong, involving Mercers (GB), placed eighth, ridden by George Rooke, Catheadans Fury (GB), placed sixth, ridden by George Wood, Perfect Symphony (IRE), placed seventh, ridden by Luke Morris and Porto Ferro (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Kieran O’Neill.
Being a 7lb claiming apprentice, Rooke was accompanied in the enquiry by a senior rider.
Rooke was suspended for 3 days for the initial piece of interference for manoeuvring left-handed when not sufficiently clear causing O’Neill to have to take a significant check off heels.
It was found that the second incident was accidental as Rooke had gone for a tight but legitimate gap in between Perfect Symphony (IRE) and Catheadans Fury (GB), at the same time as Perfect Symphony (IRE) had shifted slightly left-handed away from Little Miss Lilly (GB), resulting in interference between the three horses.
Following the race, Isobel Francis reported that Dreamboat Annie (GB), placed fourth, hung left-handed throughout.
