Lingo holds off all comers
She ran very well on her first run back after the lockdown but she wants nice ground and after the last day we left her off for three months,. We brought her back in around St Patrick's Day and this was the last day before the break in the national hunt racing. We were lucky we got in and we actually thought she might need the run. She's handicapped but she might get a few more pounds for this. We'll keep her on the go as she likes good ground. Her dam is a half-sister to Bob Lingo and Talk The Lingo. They seemed to like Galway so we might go there with her.
Abernethy seen to good effect on Lusis Naturea
He was getting no run turning in. Last time at Leopardstown he got slightly boxed in and never got rolling. He probably should have been a bit closer that day and I thought it was going to be the same story today. Cormac gave him a great ride and thank God it opened up for him. He's had three runs where he has hit nothing but traffic problems. Two races Karen (McNeilly, owner) was going to retire him as he's ten year old and he always seems to get a cut on his shin during races, which he has again there. He ran a great race on the Flat last time and it's great that he's got his head in front. He was a keen wee boy in his early days but now he's settling in his races and running to the line. Hopefully he'll get another wee summer race for him. That big galloping track suited him. We're delighted.
Sight Nor Seen records 40/1 shock on hurdle debut
I knew he'd run well today. He has shown plenty at home and he's good to jump. Mark schooled him during the week and he jumped great for him so I knew he'd nearly do the business today. He's an oul stayer and he was unlucky in a few point-to-points when he fell. We'll play it by ear now. Today was today and we'll be happy with the prize-money - that'll do me as I had no money on him.
Nasee wins easily at 20/1 for the Shark
That was lovely. It mightn't have been much of a race but at least he won. He stayed galloping the whole way to the line and I was probably running him over the wrong trip the whole time. He has to have good ground. It's great for the owner who has had two winners inside a week so he's delighted.
Double delight for owner/rider Aine O'Connor
Morgan completes 577/1 cross meeting double
It was his first time in a handicap. He didn't like the soft ground the last day but on the better ground today he travelled and jumped away. I'd say it was a very bad race. I don't think it will be one you'll be thinking about in a year's time with loads of form horses coming out of it but the job is done.
Fortune favours Deegan to complete 41/1 double
He's improving with every run and is still green looking in front there. I'd say we'll go chasing with him fairly soon, he jumps very well and he's a fine big horse. When we have him going now we'll stay going. I'm delighted and it's great for his owners who are here today.
